Left Shocked and dismayed!

Recently, I discovered that the incredible Hopwood Hall Estate, where I have been engaged for around 11 years, is currently undergoing decisions about its future.

Hopwood Depree was recently informed by a journalist that Rochdale Council has chosen not to extend their agreement with him for the restoration of the hall. This decision was made behind closed doors, without any prior notice to Hopwood, leaving both him and the dedicated volunteers shocked and dismayed.

The matter is currently being addressed through the appropriate legal procedures in an attempt to resolve the upcoming challenges, although the destiny of the hall remains uncertain. Initially, it was Rochdale Council's neglect that led to the deterioration of the hall. As a volunteer, I have personally observed the remarkable enhancements made to revive the gardens and other aspects of the historic hall.

Hopwood provided the following statement:

"URGENT NEWS:

Dear Friends & Supporters

Sadly, it seems some members of Rochdale Borough Council have initiated a potential news story about our rescue of Hopwood Hall Estate. I found out about the situation late yesterday when a reporter contacted us for a comment. If these individuals at Rochdale Council don’t want our dedicated team to continue saving Hopwood Hall from ruin, I wish the Council had contacted us directly to discuss matters rather than releasing information to the media.

Our legal team is involved, and we are taking this very seriously. As everyone knows, we have been working tirelessly to rescue and regenerate Hopwood Hall to be enjoyed by all. It is not an easy task given the Hall's state of dereliction when this project started and the numerous unexpected blockades in our way during the process. For anyone to say we have made no progress is baseless. It is difficult to know where this situation may go from here, but I want you to be aware rather than reading it in the newspaper.
