The Adventure
Exploring the outdoors and being adventurous
During my time with the Prince's Trust we participated in a variety of mountain and rescue activities, one of those included Abseiling from a 90ft old railway bridge. It was a great confidence building exercise which was an enjoyable experience.
I know my own limits and I don’t let anything stand in my way. After all it is better to try something at least once in your life only then will you know if it’s an enjoyable experience or not. You just have to break through your limits.
Another activity I participated in while with the Prince’s Trust was Tyrolean Traverse where I had to safely cross a deep drop. Tyrolean traverse is a method of crossing through free space between two high points on a rope without a hanging cart or cart equivalent. This is used in a range of mountaineering activities: rock climbing, technical tree climbing, caving, water crossings and mountain rescue.
It really helps to work those muscles since you have to pull yourself along the rope it helps get the adrenaline pumping especially when you reach the middle part and look down on how far you could drop if anything was to go wrong.
I have explored a fair few caves through the years when I was in Cub Scouts, Prince’s Trust and on family days out it's always a fun experience wandering through caves seeing how they were dug out to make the tunnels and all the formations along the walls and ceilings and then reaching the large openings is just amazing.
During my time with the Prince’s Trust I had the exciting experience of climbing through a small hole in one of the cave walls. It was a tight tunnel that would bend around and bring you out a few feet further along the cave pathway. Thankfully I didn’t get stuck.
I have always been adventurous and I feel lucky to share the experience with my two border collies Saphira and River taking walks in the woodlands, wandering across the moorlands and visiting various waterfalls and other nature exploration that’s how I got into photography i decided to buy myself a camera and teach myself how to use it.
I would start off in the woodlands taking photos of wildlife and anything that caught my eye. I then moved onto waterfalls after seeing photos of some amazing waterfalls from my friend in Canada so I just had to try it myself and sure enough I was marking down a list of waterfall locations to go and visit.
I have also started street photography, going out late at night until the early hours of the morning taking photos in my hometown and sharing them on my social media which people really enjoyed and was amazed at how I captured the town. I was also recommended to take photographs at someone's wedding which was my very first time so I wanted to make sure I didn’t ruin the day with out of focus or blurry images which adds a lot of pressure you would hate to ruin the bride and grooms day with poor quality photos.
Now I am able to share my future adventures with everyone here.
Welcome to The Adventure
Below you will find information about how much I enjoy exploring the outdoors and now I can share all of my adventures with you. I have always enjoyed the outdoors ever since I joined the Cub Scouts when I was younger going on adventures across moorlands overnight sleepovers and my most favorite was going away camping with everyone in my group.
Since then it has always been my passion and I have continued to be adventurous since then I joined the Princes Trust enabling me to meet new people and learning to work closely as a team and participating in various outdoor and mountain activities.
